JLP+D was part of an interdisciplinary team to redesign the former Union Dry Dock in Hoboken, New Jersey. The project was grounded in an interactive engagement process with the local community. The iterative multi-faceted design process considered feedback received, site constraints, ecological benefits, and funding sources. The result is a visionary new Maritime Park completing the full public waterfront access along Hoboken’s eastern edge.
JLP+D led the funding and revenue analysis for the open space. This task included analyzing open space revenue potential such as concessions, sponsorships, and local small business opportunities; identifying project funding opportunities such as grants, earned income, and private contributions; and contributing to the final conceptual design by incorporating revenue and funding considerations.
