Aurora Parks, Recreation & Open Space Master Plan

JLP+D conducted a review of the land use consideration, real estate impacts, and economic development opportunities that the creation of a new master plan for Aurora, Colorado's parks, recreation, and open space system provides. As a part of this review, JLP+D interviewed local public, private, and civic stakeholders to gather insights into potential for collaboration; assessed the potential for value capture around new and existing parks, alongside other revenue generation opportunities; and contributed to the development of an equity-based decision-making framework for the prioritization of departmental investments.

Building upon this research, JLP+D has contributed to the development of specific recommendations and implementation steps for the prioritization of key investments throughout the system managed by Aurora Parks, Recreation, and Open Space.
