JLP+D is contracted to develop a funding strategy for Union Square Partnership's Vision Plan to transform the public realm of the premier mixed-use district in New York City.
JLP+D gathered and analyzed a variety of data sources and conducted IMPLAN economic impact analysis to craft a policy argument that demonstrated the Business Improvement District's economic, social, and cultural significance. The research focused on the District's contribution to citywide economic development objectives and the potential additional benefits a revitalized public realm can bring. JLP+D then surveyed case studies and policies to provide funding guidance for implementation, including grant funding, private contribution, bond financing, and other potential sources to finance the Vision Plan.
